Every expectant couple deserves to treat themselves AND be supported to deepen their connection before baby arrives.

It’s just been the two of you so far, and then your baby is born right in the middle.

Your baby, by design, needs to be close to you. When you are used to just the 2 of you in your relationship, this can be a huge adjustment.

Open and honest communication about your values, seeking support and education, both in pregnancy or even before pregnancy are the key to maintaining your connection.

However, it can be tricky to know where to start and what conversations to have.

‘You CAN become the parent you truly want to be.’

Hi, my name is Emma Holdsworth. I support parents to explore the deeper aspects of themselves so that they can become the parents and partners that they truly want to be.

I have worked with hundreds of parents over the last 20+ years and I can tell you, hand to my heart, not one has told me that parenting is easier than they expected!

When you become a parent, you just can’t tell what behaviours, stages or emotions will be the ones that you struggle with the most.

Now, I don’t have a crystal ball but when we sit down and begin to explore your past - your childhood, adolescence, relationship patterns, core beliefs and values, it becomes pretty obvious why you find some aspects of parenting more challenging.

I would love to stand by your side and take a walk back in to your own roots to discover and begin to heal, what is holding you back from becoming the parent and partner you truly want to be.

I have over 20 years experience of working with parents, children and families in care-giving, mental health, counselling, disability and coaching.

My parenting services may be right for you if;

  • You find yourself thinking that you are not a good parent.

  • You are experiencing anxiety, depression or other mental health concerns that are multiplied by your parenting responsibilities.

  • You know how you want to be as a parent but find it difficult in the moment to parent from those values.

  • You and your partner have different parenting values and backgrounds.

  • You can hear your mother's voice when you speak to your child but you want to parent differently to how you were raised.

  • You or your child are neurodivergent.

  • You or your child has a disability.

  • You had a traumatic childhood or are a survivor of abuse or violence.

  • You have struggled with unhealthy relationship patterns or negative core beliefs.

  • You have a strained or dysfunctional relationship with your parents or childhood caregivers.

How we can work together.

About Me..

I’m Emma, mother of two, parent-focused Counsellor, Early Parenting and Breastfeeding Educator and Mental Health Doula, with over 20 years experience working with families.

There is nothing I love more than providing loving care and support to parents so that they can provide loving care and support to their babies and children.

I have seen first hand the damage that can be done by the lack of emotional and practical support offered to families in the foundational years of parenting, as well as the outdated and impractical advice that they are offered.

I believe it's time for a change.

Which is why I have developed my ‘Wrap my arms around you’ model, which supports parents through all the aspects of pregnancy, postpartum and early parenting, providing continuity of emotional care to you and your family.
