FAQs

Who do you work with?

While most of my offerings are designed for mothers, I have options available for couples, fathers and families. I work predominately with mothers as I see that motherhood is chronically undervalued in our society and that mothers, particularly birth and primary care giving mothers, have very unique needs that I can support.

If you believe I am a good fit for you and your family then I would love to welcome you. I welcome people from communities that have been traditionally marginalised and excluded, including, but not limited to, Aboriginal people, People of Colour, disabled people/people with disabilities and LGBTQIA+ people.

I treat all clients and their families as individuals with unique circumstances and needs and will always support your requests and preferences. If you are unsure about whether I am the best option for your family, let’s have a chat. If I am not best placed to support your unique needs, I have a beautiful network of professionals that I can recommend.

I had a very traumatic childhood, can you help me?

It is so important to me that you feel safe and well supported on your parenting journey. I work from the premise that you and your circumstances are completely unique and that while your childhood experiences are the roots from which you have grown, their is always room for healing, change and growth.

I have worked with many, many mothers who experienced a traumatic childhood and feel confident that I can help you to understand yourself better and to support you to be the parent you want to be.

If you would like to ask any questions or gain additional reassurance please get in touch.

Do you offer online support?

Yes. Deeply heard sessions and The Roots of Parenting private workshops are available online. I can also tailor a package of support for you online if you would like to work with me.

I’m a single parent, can I work with you?

Absolutely. whether you are single by choice or circumstance, already have kids or are planning a single parent family, I would be honoured to support you. I am a single Mum myself so I understand the pressures and complexities of single parenting.

Can my partner or co-parent and I work with you together?

Some of the sessions or packages I offer are suited to couples and others are for individual parents. The completely held or season of support packages are holistic and flexible offerings so can include couple counselling or partner support.

If you and your partner or co-parent would like to be supported together to prepare for parenting or work together better as parents then I recommend booking the roots of parenting couples workshop. This is a group workshop. If you would rather a private option please get in touch.

Is it okay if I have my baby or toddler is with me for sessions?

Absolutely. Whatever works best for you is totally fine with me. One of the reasons I offer my sessions by home visit or online is because many parents need support but dont want to leave their baby or don’t have care options for their kids. I am very flexible and resourceful and can make many options work!

I’m really anxious about talking to someone

You are always in charge of how much you share and how our sessions flow. If you are not ready to talk about a difficult situation, your birth, your feelings or your needs, we don’t have to.

There are many other ways I can support you that don’t involve talk.

Please get in touch to discuss your talk-free options.

My kids are older but I’m really interested in working with you
